what if people had pasta for hair

One of my favorite illustrations from college was this one, called "What if People had Pasta for Hair."  It was done originally for my first digital illustration class in Illustrator.  I always loved the concept, but due to time and my skill level at the time, it never really felt done.  So I'm glad now to have the excuse to go back to it and add some more rendering and depth.

These pasta heads were illustrated for the topic "Hair" as part of the The Creative Collective's synchroblogging project.

steampunk hedgehog

September 13th Today's prompt was to take a weapon and draw a steampunk version of it. I drew a hedgehog because hedgehogs make excellent weapons. Right? Right.

Update:

Making some refinements to the sketch from this week.  Still in progress...

love is a battlefield

September 10th - Ultimate Showdown  Today's sketch assignment was to draw a showdown/battle.  I'm not much for action battle scenes, so I drew this porcupine and cactus sizing each other up.

But I think they look like they could be in love.  Either way I think the porcupine is a little confused.

opossums

September 9th - Rodents

Yesterday I drew these cute opossums to celebrate my discovery of the acronym POSSLQ.

So I was excited when today's sketch topic was rodents because I thought I had just drawn some.  Sadly I soon discovered that opossums are not rodents, but marsupials. But they look rodent-ish, so close enough.

lamb!

I took advantage of the long weekend and completed a painting of myself to go with the painting I did of Brandon.

Here are the finished pieces hanging over our mantle :)
